Born in London, Naive artist Jane Giunchi painted on wood and in 1967 invented her own technique, producing bright, fashionable, inexpensive gifts. Soon after she was selling her work to Harrods, Selfridges, Kings Road Boutiques and many other London shops.

Her creations featured on the covers of many top fashion magazines, who also ran special features and from 1968 she sold more of her work at London markets including Portobello Road, Kensington Market, Green Park, Covent Garden and Bayswater Road Artists Exhibition.

Later during a short stay in Italy she sold her work at many prestigious shows including those held in Florence, Venice, Bolzano, San Remo and Rimini.

Her wooden gifts have also been seen at numerous art exhibitions and craft fairs around Britain and appeal to adults and children from all corners of the world. She has adapted many hundreds of her original designs to all kinds of wooden articles, wooden brooches being a speciality.

Jane also designed a collection of simple, inexpensive, framed watercolours and completed a range of wooden brooches that all make perfect gifts. These and her larger works were on permanent display at various galleries and Bayswater Road Artists Exhibition, London.

Jane is survived by her three children and husband of over 50 years.
